NABMA is the leading markets organisation in the country. It promotes markets on the national stage and also provides a wide portfolio of services for its members.
NABMA looks after the interests of market operators. While the bulk of our membership comprises local authorities, NABMA also welcomes operators from any backgrounds. Included in our membership are private operators, social enterprise and community groups.
NABMA is a special interest group within the Local Government Association and works closely with the Association of Town Centre Management, National Market Traders Federation, and the National Association of Local Councils, to share agendas and develop partnership working.
In a digital age of online shopping, click and collect and “serve yourself” checkouts, markets remain at the heart of real human interaction and are often the life blood of our communities, towns and cities.
By combining research, innovation, commitment to operational excellence and professional communication, the most successful markets today focus on providing the missing personal engagement which technology is rapidly eroding from our daily lives.
As people and partnerships together become a key tool in economic revival and regeneration, modern markets are re-purposing and responding to local needs and consumer trends.
NABMA is committed to the vision that markets have a key role to play in providing vibrant and successful communal places with a difference – where people can work, shop, play, enjoy the human touch and the personal contact with individual traders in that special markets atmosphere.
As a NABMA member, you can keep up with trends, learn from other markets, understand and find out how to respond to our changing environment.
Your membership means that you need never face challenges on your own. With a network of friendly, knowledgeable colleagues across the UK, there’s always someone who can answer your questions and chat through ideas and issues.
Whether it’s at our national conferences or through our awards schemes, Love Your Local Market campaign, discussion forum or training opportunities, we look forward to working with you and helping you make the most of your member benefits.
